Tasting notes: peach and melon

Peach, melon, white grape: this chocolate bar bursts with vibrant notes that evoke the carefree joy of childhood days at the beach. The name Super Santos comes from the iconic rubber ball that marked those unforgettable moments. Despite the nostalgic name, this chocolate bar is not at all anchored in the past. It is a fruity and bold explosion that bounces in the mouth.

The Gaura Estate was founded by Mr. Hengky Lianto and his family with the aim of improving the living conditions of the local community and restoring part of the local biodiversity. It is the first and only professionally managed cocoa plantation on the island. The cocoa is grown in an agroforestry context, surrounded by local timber trees, jabon, sengon, and mahogany.

The quality of their cocoa is constantly improving. They won the Cocoa of Excellence Award in 2015, and the operational team regularly holds meetings to discuss and refine agricultural techniques. The Gaura Estate has set a valuable example of how to restore local forests and create sustainable income opportunities.

They also take care of their team by managing a free primary school for the children of farmers and for children living nearby.
